Open Space Council Organizes Operation Clean Stream, the longest on-going river clean up in America. In 1994, 100 tons of trash were removed from 360 miles of waterways comprising major parts of the Meramec, Bourbeuse and Big Rivers and Huzzah and Courtois Creeks. Assisted with the acquisition of land for Castlewood State Park, Bee Tree County Park and Forest 44. Is working with government and citizen groups to develop the Henry Shaw Ozark Corridor management plan, advocating stewardship through education, policy and practice. Helps preserve open spaces and public park systems throughout the area. c/o Lee Education Center, P.O. Box 299, St. Louis, MO 63166 Phone: 636-273-6788 |
